ABOUT Megumi Noda / 01—0601First appearance and background
Megumi Noda is the protagonist of Nodame Cantabile, which began serialization in 2001, and is nicknamed Nodame. The manga, live-action drama, and anime are versions in different media; an actor’s experiences should not be presented as the character’s.
02Personality and appeal
Her habits are carefree and her way of expressing herself is distinctive, yet she has a keen musical sensibility. The contrast between her chaotic daily life and her focus while playing does not mean she can overcome every difficulty without practicing.
03Story journey
Studying and performing music bring her pressures involving technique, goals, and self-expression. After meeting Chiaki, she gradually considers how to make what she loves a path she truly chooses for herself.
04Relationships
Shinichi Chiaki is an important partner in music and romance, while teachers and fellow students from her experiences at school and abroad influence her growth. Musical partnerships, teacher–student relationships, and romantic relationships should be described separately.
05Versions and visual identity
Her short brown hair and lively expressions are recognizable features. Listening intently beside a piano, suddenly growing excited, and trying hard to stay awake could all make natural profile pictures or reaction images.
06Fan interpretations
A fan observation: Nodame’s humor often comes from the stark contrast between her daily life and her music. Once she starts playing the piano, she can make others see this seemingly disorganized person in a new light.
