ABOUT Desscaras / 01—0601First appearance and background
Desscaras is a major witch character in Ichi the Witch. Written by Osamu Nishi and illustrated by Shiro Usazaki, the work began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2024; this profile covers the manga version, not an anime year that has not yet been established.
02Personality and appeal
She is powerful and makes her own judgments about magical knowledge and danger, while also showing strong emotions and exaggerated reactions. She is more than a stern mentor: seriousness and comedy both shape her characterization.
03Story journey
Ichi’s arrival upends the established assumptions of the witches’ world, and she becomes part of his journey by meeting, assessing and guiding him. To understand the story, it is important to distinguish the rules of magical trials from the abilities characters actually possess.
04Relationships
Ichi is an important newcomer whom she guides and observes, and she lives alongside other witches in a magical society. This profile does not portray their guiding relationship as that of mother and son or assign her a romantic status based on fan pairings.
05Versions and visual identity
Her long black hair, darker skin, golden eyes and striking witch attire are distinguishing features. Cards can convey her imposing presence, while avatars and reaction images can show her shifting between annoyance, surprise and earnest explanation; she need not strike the same pose in every image.
06Fan interpretations
A fan observation: the more familiar someone is with the rules of magic, the more easily Ichi’s unexpected actions can throw them off balance. This contrast offers a way to read their interactions; it is not evidence that she lacks ability.
