ABOUT Rei Saiga / 01—0601First appearance and background
Rei Saiga is from Shangri-La Frontier. This page focuses on the manga adaptation, which began serialization in 2020; a web novel of the work existed earlier. Her real-life identity and her in-game character, Psyger-0, must be described separately.
02Personality and appeal
In real life, she easily grows nervous around the person she likes, yet her equipment and presence in battle are formidable in the game. This contrast reflects how she expresses herself in different settings; it does not mean the two identities belong to different people.
03Story journey
She hopes that playing together will give her more chances to interact with Rakuro Hizutome, but she often hesitates repeatedly before speaking to him in real life. Acting alongside him in the game gradually gives her opportunities to put that effort into practice.
04Relationships
Rakuro Hizutome uses the in-game name Sunraku and is the person she is interested in; Momo Saiga is her older sister. Psyger-0 is her own in-game character and must not be mistaken for her sister or another player.
05Versions and visual identity
The avatar on this page depicts her real-life appearance as a girl with short brown hair, rather than using the heavily armored in-game character directly as a facial portrait. Both her serious demeanor in the game and her shy everyday expressions can serve as visual material.
06Fan interpretations
A lighthearted fan observation: she can withstand the pressure of powerful opponents in the game, yet an ordinary greeting in real life might leave her at a loss. This contrast makes for comedy in her interactions without diminishing her skill as a player.
