ABOUT Tsubaki Sawabe / 01—0601First appearance and background
Tsubaki Sawabe is from Your Lie in April, which began serialization in 2011; its anime began airing in 2014. She takes part in the music-centered story from the perspective of school and sports life.
02Personality and appeal
She is outgoing and acts directly, often showing concern before understanding her own feelings. Seeming to know everything about Kousei does not mean she can easily handle the changing distance between them.
03Story journey
As Kousei returns to music, she supports him while facing her own uncertainty. The story has her gradually distinguish among friendship, dependence, and love, rather than serving only as a romantic rival.
04Relationships
Arima Kousei is her childhood friend, and Watari Ryota is a friend they share; the arrival of Miyazono Kaori changes the rhythm of how the group interacts. She is not Kousei's younger sister or a relative of Kaori.
05Versions and visual identity
Short brown hair and an everyday, sporty look are her main features. Her connection to music comes through the people around her and her emotional experiences; she should not be described as a professional violinist.
06Fan interpretations
Fan interpretation: Is the hardest part of being childhood friends having grown used to the other person always being there? This is one way to read her uncertainty and growth, not a reason to equate familiarity automatically with a confirmed romance.
