Yun Xi
Perfect World ↗ / 2013
Yun Xi is a Tianren woman whose path leads from Tianshen Mountain to the Upper Realm and back to the Lower Realm during Shi Hao’s difficult years. Purple hair makes her recognizable, but the tension between clan loyalty and personal judgment defines her story. Quietness does not mean agreement with every elder.

Yun Xi originates in Chen Dong’s Perfect World novel and has manhua and donghua portrayals, including the animation launched in 2021. Early arcs connect her with Tianshen Mountain, Baiduan Mountain and the Kunpeng nest. Her Upper Realm journey and later family life occupy different stages, rather than one introductory episode.
She is careful, attached to her people and capable of irritation at Shi Hao’s recklessness. Yet loyalty does not erase judgment: she pleads for him and helps him despite pressure from her own clan. Such actions reveal more than a generic label of aloof elegance. Restraint and conviction coexist in her character.
Novel spoilers follow. After Shi Hao escorts her through the Upper Realm, Tianren elders covet his techniques. Yun Xi argues for him and helps him escape. When he later suffers the Immortal-Breaking Curse, she chooses to stay and return to the Lower Realm. Village life shifts her arc toward care and shared responsibility.
Yun Canghai is her grandfather. Shi Hao is her early acquaintance and later husband in the novel; their son is Shi Fan, also called Little Stone. Her Tianren origin does not make every elder’s decision her own. Huo Linger and Qing Yi have separate histories that should not be reassigned to her.
Purple hair, violet clothing and ornate hair accessories define her animated visual identity, with costumes varying by stage. Our avatars and transparent figure use fully covering purple fantasy robes, emphasizing hair, gaze and expression. Generated fan art is not evidence for an official costume or an additional canonical form.
One useful reading treats Yun Xi as a character whose origins do not dictate every choice. She cannot erase her clan identity, but she can decide when to speak and when to stay. Fan judgments also depend on adaptation progress; identifying the novel or donghua context makes a richer discussion than faction labels alone.
