ABOUT Kei / 01—0601First appearance and background
Kei is a WWWA trouble consultant partnered with Yuri under the codename Lovely Angels. The 1985 TV anime presents her as the red-haired, action-first lead. The debut year here refers to that television version; Haruka Takachiho’s original novels predate it.
02Personality and appeal
She often acts first and debates the consequences with her partner afterward. Candor, drive and competitiveness supply speed and everyday comedy. Yet reducing her to recklessness misses the field judgment that complements Yuri and helps the pair solve their assignments.
03Story journey
Dirty Pair is the nickname they dislike: cases get solved, but extravagant collateral damage follows. Episodic missions structure the space adventures. The official TV listing counts 24 episodes; totals can differ when supplementary releases are included. Films, OVAs and FLASH need their own context.
04Relationships
Yuri is her professional partner, not her sister. Their opposing temperaments support effective teamwork. Mughi is a Coeurl rather than an ordinary pet cat; Nammo is a robot companion. Lovely Angel also names their ship, so context distinguishes vessel and team.
05Versions and visual identity
The 1985 design pairs fluffy orange-red short hair and a pale headband with a light costume palette, contrasting Yuri’s long dark-blue hair and yellow. These fan images adapt the uniform into opaque tops and trousers rather than exact costume replicas, without mixing in FLASH redesigns.
06Fan interpretations
The joke is less about who is foolish than about both believing they are the reliable one. Kei pushes a situation into motion; Yuri questions how it is done. Remove either and the bickering and trust lose their rhythm. This reads the comedy rather than inventing another mission.
