ABOUT Kyou Nekozaki / 01—0601First appearance and background
Kyou Nekozaki is a female classmate character in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie. The manga began in 2019, and the anime adaptation followed in 2022; the dates of these two versions should be kept distinct.
02Personality and appeal
She is energetic and friendly, and her athletic ability and cheerful way of speaking make gatherings with friends livelier. She also notices other people’s feelings; she is not merely a bystander there to make noise.
03Story journey
In sports and school activities, she shares everyday experiences with Shikimori, Hachimitsu, and others. The care friends show one another adds warmth to the work beyond its central romance.
04Relationships
Shikimori and Yui Hachimitsu are her friends, while Izumi and Inuzuka are part of the same circle of classmates. The character for “cat” in her name does not mean she is a cat spirit or a character who transforms.
05Versions and visual identity
Her brown high ponytail and athletic bearing are the main visual cues. This page uses natural expressions and everyday clothing to distinguish her from the long, pink-haired Shikimori, without mixing up their hairstyles.
06Fan interpretations
Fan interpretation: Is Nekozaki like the one who gets the mood going in her friend group? This sums up her social energy; it does not mean she can resolve everyone’s emotional difficulties every time.
