ABOUT Misaki Ayuzawa / 01—0601First appearance and background
Misaki appears in Maid Sama!, which began serialization in 2005, and is the student council president of Seika High School. The television anime aired in 2010; that date should not be mistaken for when the original work began publication.
02Personality and appeal
She expects herself to carry out her duties conscientiously and takes a firm stance toward people who break the rules. Pressures at home and work make it hard for her to ask for help; her assertiveness and exhaustion are not contradictory.
03Story journey
She handles student council work alongside a part-time café job while trying to keep that part of her life secret. The story’s romance and comedy are grounded in these real pressures, rather than being merely a costume-change premise.
04Relationships
Takumi Usui forms an important emotional bond with her; her mother and younger sister are family, while classmates and café staff are part of her everyday circle. The school romance phase should be discussed separately from later developments in the manga.
05Versions and visual identity
Her long dark hair and brisk demeanor make her recognizable. A portrait showing her full school uniform can convey her contrasting sides through an earnest reminder, an indignant pout, sudden shyness, or a sigh of relief.
06Fan interpretations
Fan interpretation: Misaki gradually learning to accept help does not mean giving up her independence. She need not shoulder everything alone for her sense of responsibility to remain a lasting strength.
