ABOUT Nia Teppelin / 01—0601First appearance and background
Nia appears during the later journey in the 2007 anime Gurren Lagann. Her origins are connected to the world aboveground, and meeting Simon brings her into a life unlike the one she knew before.
02Personality and appeal
She asks earnest questions about many things others take for granted. Though she seems innocent, she maintains her own judgment on important matters. Faced with unfamiliar experiences, her direct words often offer unexpected insight.
03Story journey
As she spends time with Team Dai-Gurren, she gradually learns about ordinary daily life, bonds with companions, and making her own choices. Changes to her identity later on and the story’s ending are major spoilers, so they are not discussed directly here.
04Relationships
Simon is someone with whom she forms a deep bond; Lordgenome is her father, and the members of Team Dai-Gurren are her new companions. Her father–daughter relationship and her political position should not be treated as the same kind of allegiance.
05Versions and visual identity
Her hair, ranging from pale gold to pale blue, distinctive eyes, and soft-looking clothes make her recognizable. Curious, happy, earnestly questioning, and determined expressions all suit her; she is not limited to a merely wide-eyed, innocent look.
06Fan interpretations
Fan interpretation: Nia’s questions often prompt others to reconsider rules they have already accepted. Her innocence is therefore more than endearing; it can also be a force that encourages reflection.
