Ui Hirasawa
K-On! ↗ / 2007
Ui’s care shows up in packed lunches, quiet visits and practical help. Beyond being Yui’s dependable younger sister, she eventually begins a musical path of her own.

Ui originates in kakifly’s K-On! manga, launched in 2007; Madoka Yonezawa voices her in Kyoto Animation’s adaptation. She begins one school year below Yui and later enters Sakuragaoka High in Azusa’s class.
Ui’s competence is practical: cooking, housework and caring for someone who is ill. She admires Yui without constantly lecturing her and learns instruments remarkably quickly. Her support quietly keeps everyday life moving.
Her story moves from supporting Yui’s band at home to sharing school life with Azusa and Jun. The manga’s later high-school continuation gives Ui a guitarist’s role; that does not make her an original member of Ho-kago Tea Time.
Yui is her older sister; Azusa Nakano and Jun Suzuki are important friends in her school year. With her hair down Ui can resemble Yui closely, a resemblance used in a club-room mix-up, though their habits and ways of caring remain distinct.
Ui often ties back her brown hair; a gentle expression and domestic apron are other familiar cues. The manga continuation, TV series and film cover different portions of the story, so her later band activities should be labelled by version.
Fan reading: jokes about Ui acting like the older sister come from her domestic competence, not a reversal of their actual ages. Reducing her to a perfect helper misses both her musical aptitude and friendships that exist beyond Yui.
