ABOUT Yuki Mori / 01—0601First appearance and background
She appears in episode one of the original 1974 TV anime, working at the defense headquarters hospital before joining the ship. She was not created for 2199, nor did she debut in the 2010 live-action film.
02Personality and appeal
Early in the voyage she encourages the less mature Kodai and Shima and cares about crew morale. Affection extends beyond romance: suggesting New Year mochi-making and organizing daily activities help retain human warmth during hardship.
03Story journey
The original combines medical, radar and welfare work, with emphasis changing through the story. She and Kodai grow closer during the voyage. Injuries, recoveries and life-or-death events in later works need their respective titles rather than being merged into one incident.
04Relationships
Later spoilers: the original Final Yamato ends with her marriage to Susumu Kodai, not a married status at her 1974 debut. In 2199 Hijikata is her guardian, not her father. Resemblance to Yurisha causes mistaken identity, not proof that they are one person or sisters.
05Versions and visual identity
Original blonde hair and yellow crew clothing anchor this page’s fan art. 2199 emphasizes operations duties, while the 2010 film makes her a pilot; titles are not interchangeable. Photographic avatars here are AI fan adaptations, not actor stills or official film publicity.
06Fan interpretations
An informative production angle is that her emphasis was not fixed throughout: planning and the finished series shifted the balance among analysis, radar and welfare. Beyond romance, provisions, nursing and morale reveal work that keeps the ship functioning.
