ABOUT Hiyori Sarugaki / 01—0601First appearance and background
Hiyori appears in the modern story as a Visored; the past arc explains her Squad Twelve lieutenant service under Kirio and then Urahara. Modern clothes and earlier robes belong to different periods of one character.
02Personality and appeal
Sharp speech and exaggerated sandal gestures mark her clashes with Shinji. Attachment and loss underlie her temper: seeing Kirio as a maternal figure makes a new captain hard to accept. That context explains more than a generic angry label.
03Story journey
[Spoilers] Controlling her inner Hollow takes considerable time. Gin gravely injures her during conflict with Aizen’s forces, and she is later healed. She declines returning to Soul Society and stays in the living world, showing that victory does not automatically resolve belonging.
04Relationships
Kirio is a respected former captain and maternal figure, not a confirmed biological mother. Urahara succeeds her as captain. Shinji is a longtime companion; bickering does not establish marriage. Gin’s attack is an enemy action, not a family link.
05Versions and visual identity
Kubikiri Orochi releases into a large jagged blade; her Hollow mask has a forehead horn and skeletal features. Avatars use an unmasked face, blonde twin tails, freckles and red sportswear for readable reactions. AI fan art is not an anime screenshot.
06Fan interpretations
[Fan interpretation] Refusing return can express a right to choose belonging after harm. Her harshness need not be idealized or dismissed as childishness. Attachment to Kirio beside resistance to Soul Society reveals how experience shapes trust.
