Your Name.

Makoto Shinkai’s 2016 film connects Mitsuha in a mountain town and Taki in Tokyo through exchanged daily lives. Phone records, braided cords and fading memories turn a school comedy toward time displacement and a search for one another. Shinkai’s novel appeared before the film and offers a related textual perspective.
