Liu Yanyan is an heir to a Xiangxi corpse-control family in Under One Person’s early story. She hopes leaving home and joining Quanxing will mean freedom, only to discover manipulation during the affair involving Zhang Chulan. Behind her orange-red twin tails and defiant expressions is a young person learning that rebellion and independence are different things.

ABOUT Liu Yanyan / 01—06

01First appearance and background

Yanyan appears in the early manhua and helps introduce the dangers of the Outsider world. The comic began in 2015 and the animation in 2016; those work dates are not exact individual debut dates. Her ability belongs to the Xiangxi Liu family tradition and centers on controlling corpses rather than generic summoning magic.

02Personality and appeal

She resists her elders’ plans but lacks experience judging strangers’ motives, making it easy to confuse a lack of restraint with freedom. Pride, irritation and embarrassment translate well into everyday reactions. Those expressions also reflect a real gap between a sheltered family upbringing and the wider world.

03Story journey

After leaving home, she targets Zhang Chulan while trying to enter Quanxing without understanding how its members treat others. Manipulation by Lu Liang and others exposes her situation, and she is later taken in by Nadutong’s North China branch. The turning point concerns a fantasy of freedom meeting reality, not a sudden transformation into a powerful villain.

04Relationships

Zhang Chulan is an early target, not a confirmed romantic partner. Lu Liang is a Quanxing member who manipulates her, not a relative or teacher. Feng Baobao and Nadutong’s North China branch matter to what happens next. Her family lineage and changing affiliations should be kept separate; seeking Quanxing membership does not define every later choice.

05Versions and visual identity

The images use the familiar comic and animated orange-red hair, low twin tails and casual clothes. Live-action television and film adapt her styling and screen time differently, so actors’ photographs are not a universal reference. Avatars and figures use everyday poses, while reactions communicate personality through faces and gestures without graphic corpse imagery.

06Fan interpretations

Her story invites a distinction between leaving home and becoming independent. Independence also requires evaluating information and facing consequences. An apparently rash early incident shows how the Outsider world can exploit someone’s wishes. This is a reading of events, not an invented conspiracy about her unwritten future or a claim that making mistakes means innate evil.
