ABOUT Aerith Gainsborough / 01—0601First appearance and background
Aerith appeared in 1997’s Final Fantasy VII as a Midgar flower seller and a descendant of the Ancients. The remake series revisits parts of the narrative, so events from every version should not be combined into a single experience.
02Personality and appeal
She speaks lively and often teases others on her own initiative, while holding to her judgment even in danger. Beyond the flower seller’s gentle appearance, she can assess situations and make choices.
03Story journey
She meets Cloud in Midgar and subsequently becomes involved in a journey concerning Shinra, the planet, and her companions. Key plot turns and changes in the remake series should be discussed with the relevant version specified.
04Relationships
Zack was an important romantic partner in her past, Cloud later traveled with her, and Tifa is a companion. Feelings from two different stages cannot simply be rewritten as a marital relationship.
05Versions and visual identity
Her long brown braid, pink hair ribbon, short red jacket, and pink dress are distinguishing features. Portraits suit her holding flowers, smiling with a sideways glance, or slightly raising an eyebrow; reaction images can retain her playfully teasing manner.
06Fan interpretations
Fan interpretation: Her smile can comfort companions and help tense people lower their guard. Seeing her ability to reach out to others as a strength is one way to read the character.
