ABOUT Anko Mitarashi / 01—0601First appearance and background
Anko debuts in manga chapter 44 in 2000 as the second-stage Chunin Exam proctor. The anime introduces her in episode 21; her debut is distinct from Naruto’s 1999 start.
02Personality and appeal
Direct and theatrical, she pressures candidates without being merely a prankster. When real danger appears, she assesses and acts quickly; the examiner’s humor coexists with a ninja’s vigilance.
03Story journey
Once Orochimaru’s student, she received the Cursed Seal of Heaven. The Forest of Death brings that past back, and she joins tracking and reconnaissance. Later she teaches at the Academy; the two eras have different appearances.
04Relationships
Orochimaru is her former teacher and the source of her cursed seal, not her father. Ibiki is an examination colleague. A marriage to Kakashi is not established canon; fan pairings belong outside factual relationships.
05Versions and visual identity
Spiky violet ponytail, light brown eyes, headband and tan coat identify this anime-era palette. Varied portraits and reactions use dango, hearty laughter, stern refusal and exasperation to reflect her everyday manner.
06Fan interpretations
Fan note: her name echoes dango-related sweets, and her fondness for dango provides a memorable everyday detail. Set beside the burden of the cursed seal, that lightness reveals a contrast beyond her examiner persona.
