ABOUT Yuko / 01—06

01First appearance and background

Yuko enters the manga in Part 2’s opening stretch in 2022; July coverage introduced her as Asa’s new student acquaintance. Her arrival is distinct from the series launch: Tatsuki Fujimoto began Chainsaw Man in December 2018.

02Personality and appeal

[Spoilers] Yuko openly likes Chainsaw Man and reaches out to an isolated Asa. Her early warmth can be read as a willingness to make the first move toward someone. That is a reading of her actions, not an official personality label.

03Story journey

[Spoilers] In chapter 100, raw meat has been left in Asa’s shoes. Recognizing the bullying, Yuko offers one of her own. They leave with one shoe each, an awkward, practical gesture that gives their new friendship a visible shape.

04Relationships

[Spoilers] Chapter 101 connects Yuko and Asa through parents lost to devils and a promise to become devil-hunting partners. Asa refuses Yoru’s proposal to turn Yuko into a weapon, showing how much more than a temporary teammate she has become.

05Versions and visual identity

Volume 13’s warm-toned cover gives Yuko ochre-brown short hair, dark rectangular glasses, a light shirt, a dark bow and a dark uniform bodice. This describes that cover, without assigning a universal eye color. Any AI-created illustrations accompanying this page should be understood as unofficial fan interpretations.

06Fan interpretations

Fan reading: their early interactions invite a question about accepting kindness; this is a reading suggestion, not a claim about the author’s sole intent. Separately, ORICON reported manga circulation above 36 million copies in May 2026, a series figure rather than Yuko’s personal audience.
