ABOUT Jeanne / 01—0601First appearance and background
Jeanne is an Umbra Witch introduced in the original 2009 Bayonetta. The developer describes her as Bayonetta’s rival and equal in the Bullet Arts, establishing a capable counterpart rather than a sidekick. This page uses her adult first-game silver bob and red outfit; the year follows Japan’s initial release.
02Personality and appeal
Her challenges are direct and her manner cooler. Crisp movements and restrained looks contrast with Bayonetta’s theatricality. Severity does not mean emotional emptiness: key decisions only make sense through their shared past, so a cold female antagonist label misses the substance of her role.
03Story journey
First-game spoilers: apparent hostility gradually reveals the Witches’ history and a protective sealing. Jeanne sealed her friend to protect her, rather than simply betraying her. In the second game rescuing Jeanne becomes a major motive, making her both a formidable counterpart and someone the heroine risks herself to save.
04Relationships
She and Bayonetta are childhood friends, fellow Witches and long-standing rivals, not biological sisters. Misunderstanding, confrontation and rescue change their connection across the story. Specify the installment rather than importing alternate worlds or treating a fan pairing as an established first-game fact.
05Versions and visual identity
A silver bob and red motorcycle-style outfit create a silhouette contrasting Bayonetta’s long black lines. Adjusting a glove, a side glance or a brisk nod suit her portraits. Later long-haired designs are separate; these AI-assisted figurines are fan concepts rather than official merchandise photographs.
06Fan interpretations
A fitting wordless scene has her checking equipment before giving a small side-eye to an excessively theatrical entrance. Different expressive styles supply the joke, not invented hostility. A tightened brow or brief smile can convey everyday reactions; the comic remains fan invention, not a hidden quest claim.
