ABOUT Su Mucheng / 01—06

01First appearance and background

Su Mucheng is a fictional professional player in Butterfly Blue’s esports novel The King’s Avatar. The novel began in 2011 and its web animation launched in 2017. She operates Dancing Rain, a Launcher-class game character. The human player, the account and the designs used by different adaptations are distinct layers; her early Excellent Era circumstances also differ from her later time with Happy.

02Personality and appeal

Her warmth is not an absence of judgment. She reads a teammate’s rhythm and coordinates without constant explanation, a quiet understanding central to her long partnership with Ye Xiu. Yet focusing too narrowly on one player can limit awareness. Her growth involves seeing the whole team and taking responsibility for damage and decisions when the match demands it.

03Story journey

Her move from Excellent Era to Happy intersects with the changes after Ye Xiu’s departure. Without her familiar partner, she must negotiate new coordination and demonstrate that a support-oriented player can create opportunities independently. Reuniting does not erase that growth; she brings a broader view back into their established understanding. Her later captaincy extends that responsibility to the entire team.

04Relationships

Su Muqiu is her older brother and central to the emotional significance of Dancing Rain. Ye Xiu is a longtime teammate and close companion; trust and care should not be rewritten as confirmed marriage or romance. Chu Yunxiu is a friend within the professional scene. Excellent Era and Happy are successive team affiliations, so teammates from different periods should not be merged into one lineup.

05Versions and visual identity

Orange-gold hair and bright eyes make her recognizable in animation. Team jackets and casual clothing belong to the human player, while heavy weapons and combat gear depict Dancing Rain in the game. A focused profile, a relaxed training break or a post-match smile can convey her competitive life. Preserving those cues across portraits and figures offers more variety than turning every image into an armed battle pose.

06Fan interpretations

Damage totals alone can hide how she gives a teammate room to act. Her covering-fire style shows that support is not standing outside the action: it changes what others can do. A useful question is when she trusts familiar coordination and when she chooses her own tempo. Those decisions say more about her professional growth than claiming she competes solely for one person.
